Penquins Part of Jet Set
Uploaded by admin on March 16th, 2012

These penguins fly first-class.

A pair of the cuddly creatures were spotted on a New York-bound Delta flight Wednesday night.

Pete, 6, and Penny, 12, waddled up and down the aisles as amused passengers snapped pictures, including one Yahoo News writer who first reported the story.

The penguins were on their way to Manhattan for the premiere of “Frozen Planet,” a new documentary series on the Discovery Channel, narrated by Alec Baldwin. The screening was held Thursday at New York’s Lincoln Center.

Before takeoff, the flight’s captain allegedly made an announcement, asking if anyone was allergic to penguins. Apparently satisfied that no one on the flight was at risk, the penguins were released as soon as the seat-belt sign was turned off.

“You can take pictures, but we ask that you don’t touch them,” the captain announced, according to Yahoo News.

Pete and Penny aren’t the first penguins to walk the aisle of a major aircraft.

Last month, a trio of penguins showed up on another New York-bound flight, and last March, SeaWorld star Pete the penguin made an appearance on a flight from San Francisco to San Diego. Both flights were with Southwest Airlines.
